Australian Open UPDATE: Mergea/Bopanna, Tecau/Rojer qualify to doubles last sixteen stage

Romanian tennis player Florin Mergea and his doubles partner Rohan Bopanna (India), 4th seeded, have qualified on Friday to the last sixteen stage in Melbourne, after defeating Lukas Dlouhy/Jiri Vesely (Czech Republic) 6-3, 6-2 in 58 minutes.

The winning pair is to receive, for reaching this stage, 180 ATP points and 40,000 Australian Dollars.

Saturday morning Horia Tecau and Jean Julien Rojer have defeated Benjamin Becker (Germany)/Dominic Thiem (Austria) 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to reach the same stage.
