Romanian boxer Cristian Ciocan has defended on Friday the WBO European heavyweight champion belt at Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, by defeating Algerian Zine Eddine Benmakhlouf by points.
Cristian Ciocan was declared winner by the three judges granting him the victory by 96-94, 96-93, and 96-93 respectively, at the end of a ten-round match.
Cristian Ciocan knocked out the Algerian in round six, who injured his foot and then limped the rest of the match, Agerpres informs.
Ciocan has 22 wins (12 KO) and 4 defeats (3 KO) in the professional category, having won the past five matches.
Cristian Ciocan (born September 27, 1987) is a Romanian-German professional boxer in the heavyweight division. His official ring name is Christian Hammer. He is ranked number 8 in the world by BoxRec as of February 2017.
