BRD Bucharest Open starts on Monday, Sevastova – first seeded. Nine Romanian players in the competition

BRD Bucharest Open starts on Monday, the fifth edition of the tournament in the capital of Romania, with prized of USD 250,000.

The first seeded tennis player is Anastasija Sevastova (Latvia), 22^nd WTA. Other contenders to the title are Mihaela Buzarnescu, Irina Begu, Sorana Cirstea, Petra Martici and Pauline Parmentier.

Romania has nine tennis players on the main board: Mihaela Buzarnescu, Irina Begu, Sorana Cirstea, Ana Bogdan, Alexandra Dulgheru, Gabriela Ruse, Andreea Rosca and Miriam Bulgaru. The ninth player will be the winner of the qualifying match between Alexandra Cadantu and Irina Bara.

The tournament was won last year by Irina Begu both in the singles and in the doubles events.
