Champions League qualifiers: Steaua through to playoff, Astra defeated
Steaua Bucharest has qualified for the play-off of the Champions League on Wednesday night, by defeating Sparta Prague 2-0 (1-0) in Bucharest, in the second leg of the third qualifying round of the competition.
Nicolae Stanciu scored two goals (31st, 62nd minutes) after the 1-1 match in Prague and thus ensured Steaua’s presence at least in the Europa League in case they are knocked out from the Champions League play-off.

In Copenhagen, Romanian team Astra Giurgiu was defeated in the in the second leg of the third qualifying round of Champions League 3-0 by FC Copenhagen and failed to reach the playoff.
Goals were scored by Andreas Cornelius (14th min. and 45+2 min.) and Federico Santander (34th min.). In the first round in Bucharest the score was 1-1.
Astra will play in the Europa League playoff.
