
Champions League, women’s handball: CSM Bucharest wins away against Ferencvaros 34-28 to top the group
Ferencvaros- CSM Bucharest 28-34 in the Champions League on Sunday, a strong victory of the women’s handball Romanian champions which places the team on the top position in the qualifying group.
The Romanian champions had a poor start and were led by 5-1 after only a few minutes. But the team, led by Cristina Neagu, has leveled the game and has taken over the lead until the very end.
What started looking like another disaster has turned very quickly into a march for CSM Bucharest, which led 17-10 at halftime.
The second half was more balanced, but CSM Bucharest won without problems, final score 34-28.
In the first match in Bucharest, CSM won 36-31. CSM had also eliminated the Hungarian team in the Champions League quarter-finals in 2016-2017.
There is only one more leg in the group, CSM Bucharest will face Biegtigheim (Germany) at home.
