Update: Davis Cup: Romania defeats Luxembourg 4-1

The tennis team of Romania has defeated Luxembourg on Sunday with an overall score of 4-2, at the Polyvalent Hall in Piatra Neamt, in an encounter counting for the first round of Group II, the Europe-Africa area of the Davis Cup.
On Sunday, Marius Copil (27, 94th ATP) won against Ugo Nastasi 6-2, 6-1 in the last match, in 61 minutes and Bogdan Borza defeated Christophe Tholl 6-3, 6-2.
Also on Sunday, in a previous match, the doubles team Horia Tecau/Florin Mergea have defeated Raphael Calzi/Robi Tholl 6-0, 6-1.
On Saturday, Romania and Luxembourg were level, 1-1 after the first two singles matches held on Saturday, following Marius Copil’s victory against Christophe Tholl 6-3, 6-2 and Ugo Nastasi’s victory against (20 years, 596 ATP) 7-6 (5), 1-6, 6-3.
The meeting of the Davis Cup in Piatra Neamt is played according to the new format announced by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), with matches of maximum three sets, held over two days (and not three as before).
In the second round of Group II (April 7-8) Romania will face the winner between Gergia and Morocco.
