Davis Cup: Slovakia defeats Romania 3-2, our team to play in the first round of the Europe /African Group 1
Romanian tennis player Adrian Ungur (199th ATP – photo) has defeated Nornert Gombos (126th ATP) 6-4, 6-4 on Sunday in Mamaia, but Slovakia defeated Romania overall 3-2 to qualify in the Davis Cup World Group playoff.
Also on Sunday, Marius Copil has been defeated by Martin Klizan 7-6 (3), 6-4, 6-4.
The Slovak doubles team made up of Andrej Martin/Igor Zelenay defeated on Saturday the Romanian pair Horia Tecau/Florin Mergea 7-5, 6-3, 6-3 to give Slovakia the lead in the match being played in Constanta.
On Friday, Romanian tennis player Marius Copil defeated Norbert Gombos in four sets, 7-6 (5), 6-7 (6), 6-4, 7-6 (10), while Adrian Ungur lost against Martin Klizan 6-4, 6-2, 6-0.
Romania will further play in the first round of the Europe / African Group 1.
