Europa League: Astra and Steaua, winners – both have chances to qualify to the last 32 round

Romanian football champions Astra Giurgiu defeated Austria Vienna 2-1 (0-0) away on Thursday evening in Europa League Group E, to keep chances alive to qualify to the next round of the competition.

Daniel Florea (79th min.) and Constantin Budescu (88th min. penalty) sealed the victory, recovering from the hosts’ lead from Lukas Rotpuller (57th min.). Austria’s captain Grunwald was sent off after receiving a red card in the 65th min.

In the mast match of the group, Astra will face AS Roma at home. In order to qualify to the last 32 round, Astra needs at least a draw. In the other match Viktoria Plzen faces Autria Vienna at home.

In the standings AS Roma leads with 11 points, followed by Astra 7, Austria Vienna 5 and Viktoria Plzen 3.

In another match in Europa League on Thursday, playing at home, Steaua Bucharest defeated Osmanlispor 2-1 (0-1) in group L.

The guests took the lead in the 30th minute (Badou Ndiaye) in a first half when Steaua had a very poor game. After the break, following the changes made by coach Reghecampf, Steaua made a very good game and achieved victory after two goals scored by Marko Momcilovic (68th min.) and Gabriel Tamaș (86th min.).

It was Steaua’s first victory in this edition of Europa League. In the last match Steaua will face Villareal away on December 8. In order to qualify the Romanian vice-champions need victory.
