Europa League: Astra Giurgiu defeated by Genk, out of the competition
Romanian football team Astra Giurgiu was eliminated from Europa League by KRC Genk, which won 1-0 (0-0) Thursday evening in Belgium, in the second leg of the last 32 round of the competition.
Spaniard Alejandro Pozuelo scored the only goal of the match (67th min.), from a free kick from the left wing. In the first leg the score was 2-2.
Romanian champions made a very good game at Genk on a difficult pitch, and created some good opportunities but failed to score.
At the end of the first half (41st min.), Budescu missed a huge opportunity, and shot wide from 10 meters.
Coach Marius Şumudică was sent to the stands by the referee for repeated protests (86th min.).
Genk has qualified to the next round round thanks to pragmatism.
Astra has ended a good run in Europa League in the last 32 round.
