Europa League: FCSB, defeated by FC Lugano 2-1, qualifies but fails to win Group G
FCSB was defeated by FC Lugano 2-1 (2-0) Thursday night at the National Arena in Bucharest, and finished second in Group G of the Europa League.
Romania’s vice-champion made a poor match, as the Swiss team scored twice in the first half, through Fabio Daprela (3rd min.), Balint Vecsei (32nd min.), while for FCSB scored Harlem Gnohere (60th min.).
FCSB football coach Nicolae Dică said Thursday that through the team failed to win Group G and has ruined everything that has done so far in Europa League.
“I did not expect to play such a poor game today, we started the game badly, relaxed, and they surprised us with the aggressive game. We did a good job of doing until now in Europa League, and it was important to win this final game. Although we have qualified, I do not like it, it was one of the worst matches we’ve ever made since I’m coach, and I reproach myself that I could not make the players understand the importance of this match and be more focused,” Coach Nicolae Dica said.
