European Games 2015, Baku: Andreea Chitu wins gold medal in judo 52 kilograms category

Romanian judoka Andreea Chitu won on Thursday the gold medal in 52 kg category at the European Judo Championship, held in the European Games in Baku, becoming European champion for the second time after the 2012 title.
In Group C, 52 kilograms category, Andreea Chitu defeated Roni Schwartz (Israel) and Odette Giuffrida (Italy) to qualify for the semi-finals. In this phase, Andrea Chitu defeated Mareen Kraeh (Germany) and qualified for the final, in which she defeated French judoka Annabelle Euranie by yuko.
Andreea Chitu won the European championship in 2012, then won a silver medal (2013) and one bronze (2014) in the continental competition. She also has one silver and one bronze at the World Championships in 2014 and 2011.
