Fed Cup: Simona Halep – Karolina Pliskova in the first match of the confrontation Romania – Czech Republic

Simona Halep (3rd WTA) will play against Karolina Pliskova (13th WTA) on Saturday at 13:00h in the first match of the confrontation against the Czech Republic in the Fed Cup quarterfinals of the World Group , an event that will take place in Polyvalent hall in Cluj Napoca.
For the second point, Monica Niculescu (37th WTA) will play on Saturday against Petra Kvitova (9th WTA).
The matches on Sunday will start at 13:00h and Halep will be the protagonist of the first game against Kvitova. The second match is Niculescu vs. Pliskova, and in a possible decisive doubles match Andreea Mitu/Raluca Olaru will face Denisa Allertova/Barbora Strycova. The doubles teams can be changed.
Simona Halep has not lost any match against the Czech players: 2-0 overall vs. Kvitova (6-2, 6-2 in the final in New Haven in 2013 and 6-7, 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-finals in Madrid in 2014) and 3-0 overall with Pliskova (6-4, 7-6 in the final in Dubai in 2015, 6-4, 6-4 in the last sixteen stage at Indian Wells 2015 and 6-4, 7-5 in the quarters at Sydney 2016.
Monica Niculescu lost the only match played against Petra Kvitova (4-6, 1-6 at Eastbourne 2013) and won both duels with Karolina Pliskova (6-3, 6 -1 in the quarter-finals at Nantes in 2012 and 6-1, 6-1 in the qualifying rounds at New Haven 2014).
