Romania women’s epee team has won the bronze medal at the European fencing Championship in Tbilisi (Georgia), after defeating Estonia 45-38 in the match for places 3-4.

The Romanian team is made up of Amalia Tătăran (CS Dinamo), Greta Vereș (CSA Steaua), Raluca Sbîrcia (CSU Craiova) and Adela Danciu (CSU Craiova).

Our country is reigning epee Olympic champion in Rio, however none of the members of the team last year is included in the current team (Ana-Maria Popescu, Simona Gherman, Simona Pop and Loredana Dinu).

Romania defeated Spain in the last sixteen round, Ukraine in the quarter-finals and lost to Russia in the semi-finals.
