Fencing: Tiberiu Dolniceanu, 2nd in sword contest at the World Cup stage in Warsaw

Romanian fencer Tiberiu Dolniceanu won the second place in the Warsaw World Cup stage at senior male sword, announces the official website of the Romanian Fencing Federation.

In the competition on Saturday Romania had four representatives: Tiberiu Dolniceanu, Alin Badea, Iulian Teodosiu and Ciprian Galatanu, of the four, Dolniceanu obtaining the best result. In the final he was defeated by South Korean Gu Bongil 8-15.

The Romanian team, made up by Tiberiu Dolniceanu, Alin Badea, Iulian Teodosiu, George Iancu, came on Sunday fifth in the World Cup stage in Warsaw senior sword.

Romania won the confrontation with Belgium in the last sixteen round, score 45-30 and lost in the quarterfinals against Russia, score 44-45.

The competition was won by France, which defeated South Korea in the final 45-43. Third place went to Russia after 45-43 with Italy.
