ACS Energia Targu Jiu men’s basketball team defeated away Petrolina AEK Larnaca (Cyprus) of 75-71 (20-24, 15-19, 17-16, 23-12) on Tuesday night in a match counting for FIBA Europe Cup, Group K.
Energia achieved victory thanks to an exceptional final quarter.
Americans Lamont Mack and Callistus Eziukwu (double-double) were the best players of the Romanian team, while the hosts’ MVP was Slovenian Primoz Brezec.
Energia tops the standings with 4 points, followed by BC Astana 2 p (1 game), Petrolina AEK Larnaca 2 p, BC Sigal Prishtina (Kosovo), 1 p (1J). The match Astana – Sigal will take place on Wednesday.
ACS Energia Targu Jiu will play the next game at home on November 10 against BC Astana (Kazakhstan).
