Football: National team coach Cosmin Contra announces players called for the matches against Sweden and Faeroe Islands


National football team coach Cosmin Contra (photo) has announced the footballers playing abroad called for the matches counting for the European Championship 2020 qualifying round against Sweden and Faeroe Islands.

Goalkeepers: Ciprian Tatarusanu (FC Nantes, 57 selections/0 goals), Costel Pantilimon (Nottingham Forest, 27/0), Florin Nita (Sparta Prague, 2/0);

Defenders: Cristian Sapunaru (Kayserispor, 33/0), Vlad Chiriches (Napoli, 54/0), Dragos Grigore (Ludogorets, 33/0), Cosmin Moti (Ludogorets, 14/0), Cristian Ganea (Numancia, 5/0);

Midfielders: Razvan Marin (Standard Liege, 14/1), Paul Anton (Krylia Sovetov, 8/0), Alexandru Chipciu (Sparta Prague, 40/5), Nicolae Stanciu (Al-Ahli, 28/10), Alexandru Mitrita (New York City FC, 6/0), Gheorghe Grozav (Kisvarda FC, 27/5);

Strikers: George Puscas (Palermo, 4/1), Claudiu Keseru (Ludogorets, 29/7)

The whole football team, including the players from the domestic championship, will be announced on Friday, March 15.

Romania’s national football team will play on March 23, at 19.00h, against Sweden away and at home, in Cluj-Napoca, on March 26, at 21.45h, against Faeroe Islands.
