Football: Romania vs. Turkey friendly match Thursday evening in Cluj

Following a failed qualification campaign for the 2018 World Cup, the Romanian national team meets Turkey in a friendly match on Thursday at the ‘Dr. Constantin Radulescu’ Stadium in Cluj-Napoca, at 20:15h.

The confrontation against Turkey, coached by Romanian Mircea Lucescu (photo 2)mircea lucescu, is an important exam for Romania’s coach Cosmin Contra (photo 1), who is at the first friendly match on the bench. The match will be broadcast live by Pro TV.

The match will be refereed by Portuguese Tiago Bruno Lopes Martins.

Just like Romania, Turkey has failed to qualify to the World Cup in Russia, although it changed the coach before the end of the qualifying matches.

Both teams finished fourth the groups’ stage.

Likely line-ups:

Romania: Nita – Sapunaru, Grigore, Chiriches, Tosca – Stanciu, Pintilii – Chipciu, Budescu, Grozav – Andone. Coach: Cosmin Contra.

Turkey: Babacan – Tufan, Toprak, Soyuncu, Koybasi – Inan, Yoksulu – Yazici, Ozyakup, Calhanoglu – Tosun. Coach: Mircea Lucescu.

On November 14, at 21:00h, on the National Arena, Romania will play another friendly match against the Netherlands.
