Gymnastics, European Championships: Catalina Ponor wins two bronze medals, on beam and floor

Romanian athlete Catalina Ponor has won the bronze medal in the balance beam final, on Sunday, at the women’s artistic gymnastics European Championships in Bern.

Ponor was granted 14.266 points. The gold medal went to Russian Aliya Mustafina, 15.100 p, while silver went to French Marine Boyer, 14.600 p.

Catalina Ponor also ranked third in beam qualifications, 14.433, behind Russians Aliya Mustafina and Angelina Melnikova.

After ranking 3rd in qualifications, Catalina Ponor also won a bronze medal in the floor final.

Olympic triple champion in Athens 2004 (beam, floor and team), has four European beam titles, as well as a silver and a bronze medal at the World Championships on beam.
