Halep’s PR manager criticises Andreescu
Cosmin Hodor, Simona Halep’s PR manager, has criticised Bianca Andreescu after Halep had defeated her in the Purple Group of the 2019 Shiseido WTA Finals Shenzhen (China) on Monday.
“Today, Simona showed us one more time that you don’t need to leave Romania to deliver excellence at the very top; Romanians live on the false impression that they cannot be performing if they stay in Romania.
Bianca is Canada’s champion, while Simona’s proposal for us is to be champions for Romania. We also have to thank Simona’s parents who did not choose to get financing abroad and to play under another flag”, Hodor posted on Instagram.
On the other hand, Bianca Andreescu’s father used to say after she won the US Open trophy that Bianca is talking in Romanian with her parents at home and she also knows to write in Romanian.
Nicu Andreescu told RTVNY that Bianca started playing tennis at the age of 6 when she was living with her mother in Romania.
“We are talking in Romania at home and that helps her. We visit Romania every year when we go visiting our family in Valcea. Bianca must speak Romanian, I hope she will never forget our language“, the father said.
