Handball: CSM Bucharest women’s team qualifies to Champions League main groups. CSM Craiova and SC Măgura Cisnădie through to EHF Cup groups
CSM Bucharest women’s team defeated SG BBM Bietigheim (Germany) 32-24 (14-13) Sunday evening, in Bucharest, to top the Champions League, Group D, and qualify to the main groups.
In Group D final standings, CSM has 8 points, ahead of Vipers Kristiansand – 7, FTC Rail Cargo – 6 and Bietigheim – 3. The first three teams qualify to the next stage of the competition.
The first half was one when CSM Bucharest lacked inspiration, with the guests leading 9-7 and 13-11, however it managed to return to the lead at halftime 14-13.
The second half was totally different, with the hosts playing well and winning 32-13.

Two Romanian teams through to EHF Cup groups
SCM Craiova, the EHF Cup titleholder, qualified on Sunday to the competition’s groups, after defeating Borussia Dortmund 19-18 (10-9), at home, in the second match of the third qualifying round.
In the first match, SCM Craiova won 19-17.
Craiova led in the first half, but in the second half the Germans took the lead 15-12. The hosts recovered the goal difference to level the score and won in the final seconds of the match 19-18.

SC Măgura Cisnădie also qualified to the EHF Cup groups on Sunday, after defeating Zvezda Zvenigorod 26-18 (10-10), at home, in the third qualifying round.
In the first match of this round, Cisnadie lost in Russia 29-24.

CSM Bucharest, men’s team, qualified to Challenge Cup last sixteen round
CSM Bucharest, men’s team, qualified to the Challenge Cup last sixteen round, after defeating on Sunday Parnassos Strovolou (Cyprus) 47-14 (23-9) at home, in the second match of the third qualifying round of the competition. The first match was played on Saturday, also in Bucharest, and CSM won 32-24.
