Handball: Romania U-17 women’s team wins Mediterranean Games

The women’s handball Under-17 of Romania has won on Saturday, for the first time, the Mediterranean Games for juniors, after defeating hosts Tunisia 34-14 in Nabeul.

Andreea Popa was named best left inter of the tournament and Daniela Marin was named best pivot of competition.

Romania lost only one match in Nabeul on Thursday, against Tunisia 17-22, Agerpres informs.

The players coached by Ion Ivan won the other matches of the tournament against Turkey (27-17), Montenegro (21-8), France (18-16), Algeria (24-6), Italy (22-13) and Egypt (23-13).
