Historical result: Romanians take women’s European bobsleigh title. Pilot Maria Constantin won Overall European Cup

Bobsleigh pilot Maria Adela Constantin from Romania is the overall winner of International Federation of Bobsled and Skeleton (FIBT) European Cup 2014 – 2015. At women’s bob, Maria Adela Constantin won with 758 points ahead of Germany‘s Miriam Wagner (672) and Katrin Beierl from Austria (660), according to fibt.com.

Also, along with Andreea Grecu, Maria Constantin won the European Cup women’s bobsleigh, the two Romanian women ending on third place in the last stage in Winterberg.

In the overall standings, Constantin – Grecu couple surpassed Miriam Wagner- Sarah Noll German crew with 86 points, competing with an old equipment.

“Finally … we won the European Cup! We can not describe in words the feeling that we lived! Thanks to all who have supported us and helped us to achieve this historical result!” said Maria Constantin.

Grecu and Constantin stood out in the World Cup this season, ranking eighth at Altenberg stage.
