Japan Open: Tecau-Rojer through to the doubles quarter-finals

Romanian-Dutch pair Horia Tecau/Jean-Julien Rojer has qualified on Tuesday to the doubles quarter-finals event of the USD 1,563,795 Rakuten Japan Open tennis tournament in Tokyo after defeating Spanish duo made up by Feliciano Lopez /Marc Lopez 6-7 (5), 6-2, 10-5.

Tecau/Rojer won in an hour and 35 minutes their first match after winning the US Open doubles title, against the same Iberian duo, 6-4, 6-3.

Tecau and his partner are to receive USD 12,785 and 90 ATP doubles points. In the quarter-finals, they face the winner pair between Ben McAlham/Yasutaka Uchiyama (Japan) and Treat Huey (Philippines)/Adil Shamasdin (Canada).
