Judo: Corina Caprioriu – silver at the Astana World Championships

Romanian judoka Corina Caprioriu has won on Wednesday the silver medal in the 57 kg category at the World Judo Championship in Astana (Kazakhstan), being defeated in the final by Japanese Kaori Matsumoto.
In the semi-finals Caprioriu defeated Catherine Beauchemin-Pinard Canada).
Previously, Caprioriu defeated in the second round Concepcion Bellorin (Spain) and in the last sixteen round Manon Durbach (Luxembourg). In the quarter-finals, Caprioriu defeated Hedvig Karakas (Hungary) by ippon.
Corina Caprioriu (28) is Olympic vice-champion, bronze medallist at the World Championships in 2011, European champion in 2010 and bronze medallist at the 2011 European Championships.
