Judo: Daniel Natea wins the 100 kg category at the Grand Slam tournament in Abu Dhabi

Romanian athlete Daniel Natea has won the 100 kg category at the Judo Grand Slam tournament in Abu Dhabi (UAE) on Sunday after defeating in the final Aleksandr Vahoviak (Belarus).

Natea wins for the second time in Abu Dhabi, after the success in 2014.

In the quarterfinals, Natea defeated by ippon Brazilian Joao Cesarino Silva, in the semi-finals he won also by ippon against the Russian Soslan Bostanov and then defeated Vahoviak by waza ari.

The competition was attended also by Mircea Croitoru (20 years), who was defeated in the first round by the Russian Anton Bracev by ippon.

The Grand Slam was attended by 155 judokas from 34 countries, 95 men and 60 women.

France took first place in the medals standings with 3 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze, followed by the Netherlands, 2-0-1 and Brazil, 1-4-8, etc.
