Madrid Open: Mergea/Bopanna through to the doubles final

The pair Florin Mergea (Romania)/Rohan Boppana (India) has won on Saturday the semi-final against Marcel Granollers/Marc Lopez 6-7, 6-3, 11-9 to reach the Madrid Open final.

In the final the pair will meet the winner between Marcin Matkowski/Nenad Zimonjici (Poland/Serbia) and Feliciano Lopez/Max Mirnyi (Spain/Belarus).

In Friday’s semi-final the Indo-Romanian duo scored a 6-3, 6-2 win over Juan Sebastian Cabal and Adrian Mannarino. Rohan Bopanna and his partner Mergea resorted to aggressive play and had total control of the match.

For reaching the final the prize amounts to EUR 121,200 and 500 ATP points for the doubles event.
