CSM Bucharest men’s handball team has qualified on Saturday to the Challenge Cup final, after defeating HC Neva Sankt Petersburg (Russia) 25-20 (15-11) in Dinamo sport hall, in the second round of the competition’s semi-finals.
CSM Bucharest had won the first round as well 26-24.
The title holder is another Romanian handball team, Potaissa Turda. Other three Romanian teams have won the trophy in the past: CSA Steana Bucharest (2006), CS UCM Resita (2007, 2008, 2009) and HC Odorheiu Secuiesc (2015). CSU Bucovina Suceava was finalist in 2009.
In the final, CSM Bucharest will face AM Madeira Andebol SAD (Portugal), which defeated both matches against AEK Athens.
