Men’s volleyball: SCM U Craiova defeats PGE Skra Belchatow in Champions League

SCM U Craiova registered a remarkable victory against PGE Skra Belchatow (Poland) 3-1 (30-28, 25-23, 19-25, 25-22) on Tuesday night at the Oltenia Polyvalent Hall in Craiova, on the debut in Group D of the Champions League in men’s volleyball.

SCM U Craiova won the match in an hour and 57 minutes against the Polish Vice-champions (Poland is the reigning world champions in men’s volleyball – our note).

Laurențiu Lică was the best player of the match with 23 points, followed by Marian Bala with 18 points. The best players for Poland were Srecko Lisinac 14 points, Bartosz Kurek 13 points and Mariusz Wlazly 12 points.

In the other match of the group – Azimut Modena (Italy) vs. ACH Volley Ljubljana (Slovenia).

SCM U Craiova will play the next match away on December 20 against ACH Volley Ljubljana.
