Montreal: Halep and Niculescu through to the doubles quarter-finals

Romanian tennis players Simona Halep and Monica Niculescu have qualified to the doubles quarter-finals in the WTA tournament in Montreal on Wednesday, after defeating Ukrainians Katerina Bondarenko/Olga Savchuk 6-1, 6-3 ina 56 minutes match.
The Romanian pair has secured a cheque for USD 17,920 and 190 WTA points.
Halep has also qualified in the singles event and is to face Karolina Pliskova (Czech Republic) in the next round. Monica Niculescu was defeated by Ahnieszka Radwanska 6-1, 7-5.
