Mutua Madrid Open: Tecau/Rojer through to quarter-finals in the doubles

The pair made up by Horia Tecau (Romania) and Jean-Julien Rojer (the Netherlands) has qualified on Wednesday to the doubles quarter-finals at Mutua Madrid Open, after defeating Kyle Edmund/Neal Skupski (UK) 6-2, 6-7 (4), 10-5.

Tecau and Rojer, champions in Madrid in 2016, won in one hour and 18 minutes.

The pair will collect 180 ATP points in the doubles and EUR 44,560.

Begu/Halep eliminated

In the women’s doubles event, the Romanian pair made up by Irina Begu and Simona Halep was defeated on Wednesday by Barbora Krejcikova/Katerina Siniakova 6-3, 6-3 in the last sixteen round.

Halep and Begu will collect 120 WTA points in the doubles and EUR 23,510.
