Olympics Medal Rankings After Day 3: Leader and Romania’s Position Revealed

Japan is the leader in the medal standings at the Paris Olympics after Monday’s races, the third official day of competition, while Romania is 15th after the gold won by swimmer David Popovici in the 200m freestyle.

Japanese athletes have won 12 medals so far, including 6 gold, 2 silver and 4 bronze. The USA has the most medals, 20, but it is only in 5th place, as it has a small number of gold medals.

Medal Rankings After Monday:

  1. Japan – 6 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze, total: 12
  2. France – 5 gold, 8 silver, 3 bronze, total: 16
  3. China – 5 gold, 5 silver, 2 bronze, total: 12
  4. Australia – 5 gold, 4 silver, 0 bronze, total: 9
  5. South Korea – 5 gold, 3 silver, 1 bronze, total: 9
  6. USA – 3 gold, 8 silver, 9 bronze, total: 20
  7. Great Britain – 2 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze, total: 10
  8. Italy – 2 gold, 3 silver, 3 bronze, total: 8
  9. Canada – 2 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze, total: 5
  10. Hong Kong – 2 gold, 0 silver, 1 bronze, total: 3

Romania is in 15th place, with one gold medal.
