Opinion poll: Which Romanian football team has more fans?

An opinion poll conducted in early February by CSCI has revealed a survey regarding which Romanian football team has more fans, the first attempt to draw up such rankings. According to the survey, in the top place stands Steaua Bucharest, which is preferred by 49% of Romanians, followed by Dinamo with 11%, CFR Cluj and Universitatea Craiova 6% each, Rapid Bucharest – 3%, Astra Giurgiu – 3%, another team 5%. The percentage of those who do not know, did not respond to this question is 19%.
The CSCI survey shows that Dinamo has a number almost double that of men against women fans, as well as a greater number of young people (16% of those 18-34 years old, compared to only 11% of the middle-aged and only 7% of those over 60 years). Also, Dinamo is supported above the average in the countryside, the survey shows.
By regions, Steaua has the highest number of supporters in Moldavia (53%), while CFR Cluj, for example, has fans only in Transylvania (18%).
As options for Romanian football teams based on electoral preferences, Universitatea Craiova is more popular with leftist voters. Steaua’s supporters are 52% leftwing voters and 49% rightwing voters.
Astra Giurgiu’s supporters are mainly from the right political wing.
Major differences are in the case of UDMR political supporters, which have in a share of 59% as preferred team CFR Cluj.
The survey was conducted during February 1-4 on 1,096 people, by interviews, according to CATI method. The survey has an error margin of 3.2% and a probability level of 95%.
