Pep Guardiola congratulates Romanian footballer Alexandru Mitrita after scoring for New York City FC

Romanian footballer  Alexandru Mitrita, 24, scored the first goal for New York City FC in the match won 5-2 against Cincinnati.

“Alexandru Mitriță finishes his fourth of the season for #NYCFC,” the club wrote on its Facebook page.

At the end of the match he was congratulated by Pep Guardiola, the coach of Manchester City.

It was the fourth goal scored by Mitrita for his team. New York City is 6th in the East Conference Major League Soccer with 23 points, after 14 legs, digi24.ro informs.

Mitrita was transferred this year to New York City from Universitatea Craiova.

New York City FC and Manchester City have the same shareholder, sheik Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
