Romanian tennis player, Mihaela Buzărnescu, with eyes in tears and screaming due to pain, left the tennis court in a wheelchair on Wednesday, during the match in the second round of Rogers Cup in Montreal, against Elina Svitolina.
Buzărnescu could not continue a match with many upheavals, interrupted decisively at 6-3, 6-7 (5), 4-3 for Svitolina.
Sources say that Buzarnescu’s diagnosis is an ankle sprain.
Mihaela thanked those who have sent her messages of encouragement and told them that she still does not know anything about the seriousness of the injury.
“Thank you to all who have thought of me. Tomorrow (Thursday) I will learn more about it,” Mihaela’s message reads.
The match between Simona Halep, 1st WTA, and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova was postponed to Thursday due to rain.
