Romania women’s tennis team will face the British team on April 22-23, at home, in the next qualification game for remaining in the Fed Cup World Group II, according to the draw in London on Tuesday.

The British team includes Johanna Konta (10th WTA) and Heather Watson (72nd WTA).

Romania played against the UK five times so far and leads 4-1.

If it loses the confrontation with Britain, Romania will reach the lowest echelon of the tennis teams.

For the time being it is unknown the city which will host the game, but most likely it will be Cluj or Bucharest.

Romanian was defeated by Belgium 3-1 on Sunday and will play a playoff for remaining in the Fed Cup World Group II. The best Romanian player of the moment, Simona Halep, 4th WTA, declared forfeit for the Fed Cup match against Belgium due to a knee injury.

The play-off for the World Group: France vs. Spain, Russia vs. Belgium, Germany vs. Ukraine and Slovakia vs. Netherlands.

The other qualification games in the World Group II are: Taiwan vs. Italy, Serbia vs. Australia and Canada vs. Kazakhstan.
