Romanian Cristina Neagu, named the best female handball player 2018

The captain of the Romanian handball team, Cristina Neagu was presented with the 2018 IHF Women’s World Handball Player of the Year yesterday during half-time of the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Japan Group D match at the 2019 IHF Women’s World Championship in Kumamoto, Japan.

Neagu received her award from IHF President Dr Hassan Moustafa and Kiyofumi Tamiaki, CEO of IHF Partner Molten.

Cristina Neagu was been named the Player of the Year by the International Handball Federation (IHF) in March this year. In the men’s rankings, Mikkel Hansen (Denmark) won the similar title.

Cristina Neagu, 30, has signed in May this year, the extension of the contract with CSM Bucharest by one year. Neagu will cash in EUR 18,000 per month, as in the previous period.
