Romanian rugby player saves man from death

Romanian international rugby player Ionuț Botezatu, currently with CSM Știința Baia Mare club, on Sunday saved a man from death, writes the official website of the Romanian Rugby Federation.Two men started arguing during a festival heldin Sighetu Marmatiei, Maramures County, with the argument turning into a violent fight at some point. One of the men hit the other and the latter swallowed his tongue. Botezatu managed to pull back his tongue and gave him assistance until the ambulance came up. The aggressor was detained by police and is now being investigated for his actions.

”Ionut Botezatu’s spontaneous gesture is special, and that it is why the entire rugby community salutes him!,” the Romanian Rugby Federation writes on its website.

Ionut Botezatu played in all the World Cup matches of Romania’s national team in England this year.
