Rugby: Romania 17 Samoa 13 in test match in Bucharest

Romania’s rugby team defeated Samoa on Saturday 17-13 (3-10) in a test match at the ‘Arch of Triumph’ stadium in Bucharest.

It was the second encounter of the two teams, after the one in 1989, when Romania won 32-24.

Next week Romania will face Tonga and a victory could lift the national team up to the 13th position in the world rankings, up from the current 15th position.

Attendance: 6,000.
