Romania National Rugby Team was defeated 21-16 (10-6) by Tonga on Saturday at the National Stadium Arcul de Triumf in Bucharest, in the last match of the ‘oaks’ before the World Cup in 2015.
Romania played well, but was defeated by a more valuable opponent that showed superior physical condition in the last part of the game.
Still trailing 10-6 at halftime, the Romanian tem seemed unable to turn the result.
Romania is part of Group D of the World Cup 2015 and will meet France, Ireland, Canada and Italy.
The match was a charity game. The money cashed from ticket sales will be donated to Vaiomounga Sione, a player of Tongan origin, legitimized with champions CSM Stiinta Baia Mare, suffering from kidney failure.
