Rugby: Romania, training matches vs. Yorkshire Carnegie, Edinburgh and Tonga in preparation for the World Cup
The Romanian National rugby team will hold three training matches in preparation for the World Cup in England this autumn, against the teams Yorkshire Carnegie (England), Edinburgh (Scotland) and Tonga’s national team, inform the specialized sports websites.
Thus, on August 14, Romania will face at the Headingley Stadium in Leeds, the Yorkshire Carnegie, a team playing in the second echelon in England – RFU Championship – which concluded last edition on the 6th place.
On August 22, the Romanian team will face the Scots in Edinburgh, most likely at Murrayfield Stadium.
The last match will take place on September 5 in Bucharest against the representative of Tonga. Romania and Tonga met in November 2013 on the national stadium ‘Arcul de Triumf’ in Bucharest, in a friendly match Romanians had won 19-18.
Both representatives have qualified for the World Cup, which will take place this autumn in England. Romania is part of Group D, along with Canada, France, Italy and Ireland, while Tonga is in Group C alongside New Zealand, Argentina, Georgia and Namibia.
