Simona Halep announces she suffers from broken ligament and has 50pc chances to play at Roland Garros

The 25-year-old Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has announced on Wednesday, on her Instagram page, that her chances to compete at Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament are 50 percent.

“I have arrived earlier in Paris for treatment. The MRI shows that I suffer from broken ligament because of the fall in Rome, I hope to recover for Roland Garros, and I will do my best to be ready. Doctors say my chances are 50 percent now, but there is serious progress since last Sunday, thank you for all the support during the past few weeks. We remain very positive,” Simona Halep wrote on Instagram.

Simona Halep got injured in the final of the WTA Premier tournament in Rome, in the first set of the match against Ukrainian Elina Svitolina, score 6-4, 5-7, 1-6.

The 2017 edition of the Roland Garros Grand Slam tournament will take place during May 28-June 11.
