Simona Halep, down more than 500 places in the WTA ranking

Suspended provisionally for doping, Simona Halep is still awaiting the verdict of the Sport Resolutions tribunal, and the former world leader has lost almost all points in the WTA ranking and dropped 520 positions in a single week.

Simona lost the 900 points earned last year in Toronto (she beat Beatriz Haddad Maia in the final) and has only 70 points left in the world ranking (60 obtained in Cincinnati and 10 at the US Open).

Romania has three athletes in the WTA Top 100: Sorana Cîrstea (31), Irina Begu (38) and Ana Bogdan (59).
