Simona Halep falls to WTA 7th place
Simona Halep has fallen on 7th place in the WTA rankings as Petra Kvitova has surpassed her. Halep has a lead of 500 points against Carla Suarez Navarro, the first player who is outside the top 10 (WTA 11th place).

In the two years while among the top five players, Halep has won tournaments in Bucharest (2014), Shenzhen, Dubai and Indian Wells (2015) and played the finals in Madrid, French Open and Champions Tournament (2014), Toronto and Cincinnati (2015).
The Romanian tennis player started 2016 on the 2nd place, but her poor results at the Australian Open, Dubai and Doha, Indian Wells and Miami have placed her on lower positions.
