Simona Halep fires Victor Ionita and will have a new coach, Daniel Dobre

Simona Halep lost on Friday in the quarterfinals of the tournament in Birmingham, 6-2, 0-6, 6-7 against Kristina Mladenovic of France, and a day later she fired Victor Ionita (photo 1). The coach has returned alone to Romania on Saturday and will not go to Wimbledon. Halep’s new coach is also a Romanian, Daniel Dobre (photo 2), digisport.ro informs.
Aged 31, Victor Ionita was coaching Simona in early 2015 but their relationship has cooled down after Roland Garros.
Daniel Dobre, the new coach of the Simona, worked seven years at an academy in Germany and has been part of Halep’s team at the champions’ tournament in 2014 in Singapore.
