Simona Halep returns to the tennis court in 2024

Simona Halep will try to obtain a reduction of the 4-year suspension at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), but the former WTA leader will return to the tennis court regardless of the Lausanne Court’s verdict.

The double Grand Slam winner announced on Instagram that she will participate in the Sports Festival 2024.

The legendary Andre Agassi and Steffi Graf will also be present at the event in Cluj-Napoca (June 15). The demonstration match will take place on June 15, from 18:00, at BT Arena.

“Hey, Steffi, I’m waiting for you in Romania, in my country, with Andrei (Pavel – n.r.). I’ve attended the Sports Festival in the past and it’s amazing. I am sure you will like it too. I can’t wait to see you in Cluj, at the Sports Festival”, Simona Halep posted.

Patrick Ciorcilă, co-founder of the Sports Festival, explained the decision to invite Simona Halep to this event. “It is difficult to fully express our joy to have Simona Halep on the field again, at a demonstration within the Sports Festival. Simona is very loved in Romania and we can’t wait to see her again.
