Children or adults, performance athletes or sports and adrenaline lovers, anyone can participate in Spartan Race 2023. The two days of challenges will test the competitors’ skills and ability to adapt to the new. Thus, the concrete route will be announced only one day before the start of the race.
„Our mission is to inspire people to become more confident in their own abilities, to have the necessary skills to get through the challenges that arise every day. We believe that by overcoming the obstacles in our races, by training and belonging to a community with the same interests, people can become more confident, more disciplined and more aware of their own abilities”, says Lorand Ilyes, Spartan Race representative in Romania.
Valentin Popa, a war veteran and member of the INVICTUS team, is Ambassador Spartan Race 2023. He will participate on a specially created route, being an excellent workout before the Invictus Games in the fall. Valentin Popa has an impressive life story. Five years ago, he suffered an accident during a pre-mission workout, and has since been immobilized in a wheelchair. Strength, ambition and determination are the words that characterize both him and the Spartan Race.
„For a person in a wheelchair, to be able to leave the house and, especially, to participate in an activity involving discipline is a huge breath. Being with people who want to exceed their limits challenges me to want more, to work harder, and determining each participant in this kind of race inspires me. Invictus or Spartan, characterizes a sure word – WINNER”, says Valentin Popa.
Over the years, since 2018, when the first race took place, personalities such as Viorel Palici participated in Spartan Race, Paul Pepene ( world champion at 30 km-tracking-skiing fund and portdrapelul România at the 2022 Beijing Olympics ), components of the INVICTUS or Cristian Moșoiu team ( cross-country ski champion and Biathlon ).
