A bitter defeat for Romanian table tennis player Bernadette Szocs in the Europe Top 16 final in Switzerland. She led by 3-0 but lost 3-4 on Sunday to Petrissa Solja, Germany.

Bernadette Szocs has won the title last year.

She defeated Barbara Balazova (Slovakia) 4-0 in the quarter-finals and Natalia Partyka (Poland) 4-3 in the semi-finals. Szocs lost the final against Petrissa Solja, the player who defeated Romanian table tennis player, former European champion Elisabeta Samara.

Bernadette led 3-0 (11-9, 11-9, 11-6) but an unexplainable turn made her lose the following four sets (10-12, 8-11, 8-11 and 4-11).
