Tennis: Marius Copil through to the final in Sofia

Romanian tennis player Marius Copil, 93rd ATP, has qualified on Saturday to the final of the Sofia tournament, the first final of his career in ATP circuit, after defeating Slovak Jozef Kovalik 6-4, 6-2 in the semi-finals of this competition with total prizes of EUR 501,345.

Child ((27 years old, 93rd ATP) won in one hour and 16 minutes. Kovalik had no break ball.

Marius Copil, at his highest career performance, secured a cheque of EUR 47,105 and 150 ATP points.

In the final Copil will face the winner between Swiss tennis player Stan Wawrinka, the main favourite, and Bosnian Mirza Basic.

In the quarter-finals on Friday, Copil defeated Gilles Muller, third seeded, 6-4, 6-4.
