Tennis: Monica Niculescu to play the singles and doubles finals in Luxembourg

Romanian tennis player Monica Niculescu, 50th WTA, qualified on Friday in the final of the WTA tournament in Luxembourg, after defeating Kiki Bertens (the Netherlands, 23rd WTA) 6-3, 6-3.

In the final, Niculescu will face Petra Kvitova (Cezch Republic), who defeated Lauren Davis (US) 7-5, 6-3.

Niculescu is to collect a cheque for EUR 17,258 and 180 WTA points.

Monica Niculescu has also qualified to the final in the doubles event along with Patricia Tig, after defeating 0-6, 6-4, 10-8 Jocelyn Rae/Anna Smith (UK) in the semi-finals. In the final the Romanian pair will face Kiki Bertens/Johanna Larsson.
