Tennis: Simona Halep drops to third place in WTA rankings
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep has dropped to third place in the WTA rankings issued on Monday. Angelique Kerber, recent winner of Australian Open, climbed to the second place, 155 point ahead of Halep. On the first place is Serena Williams, 3,500 points ahead of Kerber.
Fourth is Agnieszka Radwanska, 300 point behind Halep, followed by Garbine Muguruza and Maria Sharapova.
Other Romanian players rank as follows: Irina Begu – 34th, Monica Niculescu – 37th, Alexandra Dulgheru – 54th, Andreea Mitu – 104th.
In the doubles event, Monica Niculescu ranks 32nd, Irina Begu ranks 34th and Raluca Olaru is 45th.
